7. King Arthur vs. The Black Knight in ... Monty Python and the Holy Grail

The Setup: King Arthur. King of kings and on the noblest of quests. But every journey is rapt with danger and that danger is embodied in the purest evil with the Black Knight.* (*Note: sarcasm)

The Weird: I suppose you can’t exactly blame the weirdness in this classic entry, but seeing a knight sustain extensive…ummm…flesh wounds, certainly qualifies and is an epic battle indeed.

6. Dale and Saul vs. Red in ... Pineapple Express

The Setup: Dopers extraordinaire Saul and Dale on the run from violent criminals seek refuge at the home of Saul’s dealer Red. But when Dale suspects Red is tipping off their pursuers…

The Weird: In a very similar vein to the Bridget Jones fight we have an embarrassing scuffle of inept proportions. Dust busters become weapons of mayhem, buttocks and groins are punched and bongs are smashed; pure glorious absurdity.

5. Fletcher Reede vs. Himself in ... Liar Liar

The Setup: Trying desperately (and hilariously) to become excused from a disastrous trial, the most honest lawyer in America brings the hand of justice down on himself.

The Weird: Do I really need to explain the weirdness in a man beating himself up?
